• A member of the Achillides group of swallowtail butterflies, marked by the green dots that look like sprinkles all over the wings and the body. 
• Most swallowtails will have black tails, where this one has BLUE TAILS!

Fun Facts about the Green Swallowtail

• Papilio blumei can only be found on the Indonesian Island Sulawesi
• Another common name is Peacock Swallowtail
• flying lizards (Draco volans) are natural predators of Papilio blumei. They eat their eggs.
• The mating strategy of the green swallowtail is patrolling. This means they actively roam a home range or territory in search of receptive mates, rather than waiting for them at a fixed location.
