The Sea Green Swallowtail

• Papilio lorquinianus albertisi ♂ from Arfak, Irian Jaya, Indonesia
• This butterfly is found in the Moluccas (Morotai, Ternate, Halmahera, Bacan and Seram) and in western Irian Jaya.
• The wings show a green metallic sheen that shifts to a striking iridescent blue-turquoise.
• Wild-caught
• Each specimen is spread in our studio in Calgary
• Each piece of glass is cut to size and protects the specimen from 50% of UV rays.

Fun Facts about the Sea Green Swallowtail

• Guests in our booth often argue if this butterfly is green or blue.

• Females are muted in colour and rarely observed.
